Coachella wasn’t ready and we weren’t as well. Months after we are still recovering from the dazzling Beyoncé performances that brought our attention to the black culture. And what about the Balmain outfits? They were breath-ta-king.
And if you still want to put your hands on the iconic collegiate B∆K sweatshirt, I just want to let you know that now you can do that. No, you’re not dreaming. Beyoncé and Balmain (a relationship that we live for) teamed up to put in on sale, and you better be fast because you’re not alone on this fashion haunting.
Along with the sweatshirt, there will be also t-shirts with the logo on it available in three colors: hot pink, bright yellow and black. “After experiencing that beautiful partnership, we weren’t ready to just walk away without adding one final, perfecting touch,” says designer Olivier Rousteing. “This collection of hoodies and tees, based on key designs from our Coachella efforts, responds to our need to repay an obvious debt for the inspiration we received from the signature spirit and legacy of America’s historically black colleges and universities.”
Because when fashion and social causes unite good things happen, all the proceeds from this capsule collection will go towards the UNCF, an educational non-profit which helps to fund black students, building on Bey’s $100,000 donation to four historically black colleges since her headline set.
You can purchase the much desired sweatshirts and t-shirts in the Balmain’s flagship Paris store at 44 rue François Premier from 7 – 9pm, then online the following day on Balmain.com and Beyonce.com, as well as in Balmain’s Milan, London, New York and Los Angeles boutiques.
