Congratulations on the new single ‘Someone Else”. “Someone Else” explores complex emotions and the fragility of relationships. What inspired you to dive into these themes for this song?

Thank you! What inspired me the most was a tough year of relationship drama lol, and I guess that made me realise that as soon as you let complacency creep in, it’s really hard to cut that out of your relationship.

How would you say your sound and approach to songwriting have evolved since your early days on YouTube?

As I’ve gotten older, I write more about what’s actually going on in mine and my friend’s lives, whereas before, I loved to make up stories & dive into things I’d watched/heard. A combination of these two is the perfect description of my approach. I didn’t really know what was going on in the YouTube days haha, I just knew I loved singing & writing – and usually, it only made sense to me.

What does this new single represent in your overall journey as an artist?

I think it represents a new sound & is a perfect representation of a mix between the ballads and the more up tempo songs to come out!

You’ve come a long way from recording on your mom’s phone in Trowbridge. How does it feel to be recording in studios?

Like an absolute dream come true!! I don’t think I’ll never take it for granted.

Your music is known for its introspective and unfiltered take on relationships. How do you approach writing so openly about such personal topics?

I make music with friends so I feel safe enough to open up!

Which artists or experiences have had the biggest impact on your music style and perspective as a songwriter?

I think Andy Williams had a big impact on me, as my mum always had him playing in the house! Another would be Lana del Rey. She was always such a staple for me & born to die was one of the first albums I bought and truly loved.

Experience wise I would just say love as a general impact.

How did growing up in Trowbridge shape your musical path, and do you feel those roots still influence your work today?

I had a great music teacher at secondary school who always supported me, and my family were always so supportive of what I wanted to do. I come from a very big family of mostly women, so having them around was always going to shape me to be whoever I wanted to be. I definitely feel that my roots still influence my work for sure! That will never change.

Are there any artists, whether in alt-R&B or other genres, you’d love to collaborate with in the future?

a$ap rocky

Lana del Rey

Rosalia

Rihanna

Tame impala

How did it feel to receive recognition from tastemakers like BBC Radio 1, Apple Music, and Complex, and how have these opportunities influenced your journey?

Very surreal! Little Graye wouldn’t believe it!!

You mention artists like Lana Del Rey and Frank Sinatra as influences. What aspects of their work do you feel most connected to in your own music?

Definitely lyrics & the DRAMA of the production. I love the orchestral element of both artists.

What inspired you to pursue music in the first place, and do you remember a specific moment when you realized this was what you wanted to do?

My mum for sure. I wouldn’t be in music at all if it wasn’t for her! I wanted to be an English teacher lol. I do! I think after I started singing in the studio for the first time, I realised I was listening to something I had made from the day (probably so shit) and just fell in love with the achievement & feeling of creating something that could make others feel so many different things. And myself!

How would you describe your ideal “girls’ night out”? Are there specific songs or vibes?

Either staying in and watching something in bed or having a rager with Gwen Stefani, ashnikko & Kim Petras playing. But honestly, it depends where I’m going.

What music do you personally enjoy listening to when you’re not in the studio—any genres, artists, or moods that resonate with you outside of your work?

I love rnb music, pop music, emosh music, rap and literally everything.

“All For Love” is described as your most vulnerable work yet. How has this project pushed you personally and creatively?

You will see 😉 I’ve been involved with every part of the creative process!!

What are your hopes for this upcoming EP, and how do you see it resonating with listeners?

Everyone knows there’s a fine line between love & hate! & also love is a sphere of different emotions, love itself isn’t just one thing. That’s how, I hope!

If you could sum up the message you want your listeners to take away from your music, especially with “Someone Else,” what would that be?

Stop being complacent or I will dump u x
