ELLA VOS USHERS IN A BRAND-NEW CHAPTER WITH EUPHORIC SINGLE “KAWAII”

Los Angeles indie-pop artist Ella Vos kicks off 2024 with the release of Kawaii, a luminous synth-pop anthem that heralds her fourth studio album, ROSEBUDS, due later this year. Described as a “modern fairytale for the late bloomer,” the album promises to explore femininity, growth, and the beauty of embracing change—a narrative already unfolding through Kawaii, the second installment in an evolving artistic saga.

The track’s title, meaning “cute” in Japanese, nods to its playful exterior, but the lyrics reveal a deeper story of defiance. In an exclusive quote, Ella shares the deeply personal inspiration behind the song:

“Kawaii, which means ‘cute’ in Japanese, was inspired by an actual dream I had where ‘everyone’ was mad at me for following my dreams of becoming a solo artist. I know many women who have experienced this when they step into their power, and others have trouble embracing the change. I have experienced it myself over the course of my career. As a solo artist in the music industry for nearly ten years, I’ve had my ups and downs; I’ve been starry eyed, I’ve been jaded. This song is about returning to the music world, the Los Angeles that I know and grew up loving, and saying goodbye to my people-pleasing self. It’s about chasing what I know makes me most joyful.”
