Chanel Haute Couture Spring ’25: Pastels and Tweed

Chanel’s Spring/Summer collection glazed through the Grand Palais in Paris leaving a firm, but whimsical stamp on how the next seasons will look in fashion. The Palais had a Chanel makeover as two large C’s – their iconic logo – were placed in the centre of the architecture. They created a curved, catwalk to maintain the quintessential name of Chanel. Guests sat among the polished, white letters and observed as this new collection demonstrated washy colours, veils and ballet pumps.

As a dramatic violin melody struck the speakers of the Palais so did a handful of the timeless, tweed jackets. However, an addition of sparkles was a clear inclusion to this collection. Silver, glitter buttons on a mint coloured jacket followed by a spotted pattern detailing on a light cream piece, caught attention and are now the go to sunset colours of this Summer. Following this, sunny yellow jackets with black bows, maintaining the classic solstice hues took to the floor.

The colour palette was a delicate balance of fairy lights and empowering pastels creating an allure of femininity. The hair and makeup outlook following this possessed flowy – almost untouched hair from the models with the occasional, confident red lip slipping through the crowd. This contrast in makeup also represented a balance between a dainty, female aesthetic to the strong, feline radiations.

Accessories also made an appearance in this new collection. Tweed sets, trails of fabric and loosely fitting tops had a secondary acquaintance of the belt. Thin, minimal black belts sat upon the models’ waists adding characteristic and fit to their individual looks.

Among this crowd sat Kylie Jenner wearing a milky toned tweed suit along with deep framed sunglasses and a sable coloured cross-body bag. Kylie’s hair was styled in loose, elegant curls framing her chunky sunnies.

Overall, the Chanel Spring/Summer 2025 show was a strong reminder of the fashion house’s long-lasting name with a collection that is bringing back the love for pastel colours and notes of party sparkles.
