Critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer Amber Mark continues to captivate listeners with her latest single, “Wait So Yeah,” a smooth, seductive track that evokes the feeling of a cool breeze on a warm night. Released under PMR/Interscope Records, the single serves as a preview of her upcoming Loosies EP, dropping this Friday, November 22.
“Wait So Yeah” opens with lush vocal harmonies, setting the stage for a vibrant blend of booming 808s, crisp hi-hats, and Amber Mark’s signature velvety vocals. The lyrics are steeped in longing and intimacy:
“Have you ever seen a sunrise twice? / ’Cause I really wanna spend the night with you-ooh-ooh / My body don’t need no sleep / No, nothing gon’ come between me and you-ooh.”
The track also features the collaborative touches of Two Fresh (Mac Miller, Teddy Swims), John Ryan (Sabrina Carpenter, Benny Blanco), and Steph Jones (Selena Gomez, Carpenter), whose voices seamlessly weave into the track’s dreamy composition.
In describing the inspiration behind the Loosies EP, Mark shared: “As I’ve been working on so much music for the next album, this mini project just started coming together. It’s loose, sweaty, and a little dance-floor. Mainly made at home by myself and with a few of my friends. The rest is coming, but this is a little thank you to anyone who’s waiting for being so patient.”
The EP will feature two previously released singles. The sultry “Sink In” blends jazz piano with Jersey club beats, while “Won’t Cry” offers a soul-soothing disco vibe reminiscent of Giorgio Moroder’s influence. Both tracks highlight Amber’s multifaceted artistry and her ability to explore various genres effortlessly.
Amber Mark has been teasing this new era of her music throughout 2024 with standout releases such as “Space & Time,” a torch song-turned-global dance anthem, and “Comin’ Around Again,” a soulful, pop-infused celebration of rhythm and blues. She also made waves this summer with her cover of Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day,” the first reinterpretation of the classic approved by the late legend’s estate.
The Loosies EP comes after Mark’s critically lauded debut album, Three Dimensions Deep, which dropped in 2022 to widespread acclaim from outlets such as NPR, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork. Mark also gained recognition during the pandemic with her Covered-19 audio-visual series and her beloved early EPs, Conexão and 3:33am.
As Amber Mark continues to build excitement for her next full-length project, Loosies offers fans a glimpse of her artistry in motion—intimate, experimental, and unapologetically fun. Don’t miss the full release this Friday.
