Swedish fashion brand, Acne Studios, unveiled its Fall-Winter 2025 menswear collection at Paris Fashion Week.
Cowboy-inspired attires, nods to sports culture, and striking fur ensembles took the spotlight this morning in Paris, during Acne Studios’ latest menswear collection. Creative director Johnny Johansson reimagines classic menswear archetypes with subtle subversion, playfully exploring masculinity while staying true to the brand’s iconic effortless and laid-back style.
The collection’s silhouettes range from 1970s form-fitting flared looks to oversized suits, reminiscent of 1980s power dressing. Padded shoulders appeared in several outfits, creating bold, triangular, and distinctly masculine shapes. However, Johnny Johansson didn’t confine the collection solely to nostalgia. Other looks featured outdoor-inspired boxer shorts and cropped T-shirts, teasing a playful glimpse of the waistline.
In true Fall-Winter fashion, the collection’s colour palette leaned heavily on cool-toned greys and rich navy blues, complemented by deep browns and burgundy reds, channelling a vintage charm. Adding contrast, pops of orange, vibrant denim blue, and even soft pink bring back a sense of sprightliness, perfectly balancing the collection’s effortless spirit that it’s known for.
No Fall-Winter collection is complete without a strong lineup of outerwear, and Acne Studios doesn’t disappoint. Fur remains a standout feature, with oversized coats and bold shearling jackets striking a balance between sophistication and expression. The collection also highlights striped viscose shirts, oversized corduroy, and checked wool, though denim takes centre stage this season. Acne Studios experiments with fil coupé monograms and trompe-l’oeil techniques, the latter appearing in hand-drawn, simple suit-and-tie prints on jersey tops and ties reimagined as interwoven bow motifs.
Lastly, footwear and accessories challenge traditional notions of formality. Brogues decorated with studs, loafers adorned with Acne Studios-branded plaques, and trainers that merge the styles of vintage boxing shoes and ballet flats make bold statements. Not straying from the cowboy allegations, the boots are designed to resemble rolled-up jeans around the ankles, while belts feature western-inspired buckles. The headwear draws inspiration from vintage aviator helmets. And to complete the look, the new Camero bag presents an edgy and modern twist on the classic briefcase. As Acne Studios aptly describes it on X, “24 looks exploring different sides of the man – the urban and the off-duty.”
